Creative resistance (or the universal force against creativity) is a concept created by American novelist Steven Pressfield. Resistance is the reason many people don’t achieve their creativity and dreams. Resistance is anything that stops the artist or creative thinker from taking creative action, including inner fears, procrastination, and self-doubt. Resistance is universal and inevitable. Creative Resistance is invisible but its effects are very real. It may seem to come from outside of you, it is self-generated and self-perpetuated. It is also a force of nature and a liar. Reasons for Creative Resistance-  i)Procrastination is a common symptom of Creative Resistance because it’s the easiest to rationalize. ii)Fear is another perfect weapon. All strengths and powers come from our fears. Self-doubt and  iii)Perfectionism are other rooted reasons. iv)Shaming and accusatory voice also resists creativity.
