Composition:15 Marks

Read the following conversation and answer the questions:5x3=15

Abida: I am convinced that Rina deserved the second class while Manyata has rightly got a first class.

Meena: So am I, The present system of examination is much better and needs not much more change.

Abida: Yes, I suppose so. It succeeds to identify between a bright, hard working student and dull students.

Meena:- What is more, a dull fellow sometimes gets more marks than a brilliant student. Manyata is only a girl of average intelligence. A second class is also much for her. By memorizing a few select answers she has passed with better colours.

Abida: Yes, she has. But, a student who sincerely studies the textbooks and just gets fewer marks more than the average ones is still better because he or she develops for life. Manyata has done just some smart work. More in less time. But, the so-called intelligence and results of such students always gets caught in future too. Rina is a student of depth and critical thinking apart from being hard working and systematic.

Meena: May be, you are right. Facts about how a student read and thought naturally comes out with time. Ok, now I have to go. Will check with you soon.

Abida: Yup, keep in touch. Good night.

1. About what and why is Abida convinced? 5

2. What does Meena say about the present system of examination? 5

3. How does Abida analyze the case of Rina and Manyata?5
