176. IDC-101- Dramatic Monologue
A dramatic monologue is a speech delivered by a character directly addressing an audience or another character. It reveals the character's inner thoughts, emotions, and often provides insights into their motivations or the story.
Example:
"To be or not to be, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And, by opposing, end them." - Hamlet, William Shakespeare
This excerpt from Hamlet is a classic example of a dramatic monologue where the character contemplates life's existential questions.
