2. "The White House issued a statement." - In this case, "The White House" is used to refer to the President or the President's administration.
3. "The city mourned the loss of a firefighter." - In this instance, "a firefighter" stands for all firefighters in the city.
Synecdoche adds depth and vividness to language by using specific details to convey broader meanings.
